As a newly-minted counsellor, I am thrilled to be practising. This is my fourth career – forester, professor, consultant, counsellor – and the most gratifying. My first year of counselling has been a powerful lesson of the truth that the therapeutic relationship is the primary source of healing. The learning curve is steep and steady!
I am grateful to be a member of an Association that supports professional development. I joined the Board of Directors because I have many useful organization development skills and a deep interest in many of the issues facing our profession. Being involved in issues that affect the practice and development of members is a means of peer contact, and I can’t get enough of that. I join a highly and diversely skilled team and look forward to contributing all that I can.
