Host a community gathering
Any ACCT member is welcome to organize a Community Gathering—an informal, member-led opportunity for ACCT counsellors in the same region to come together. These gatherings are designed to cultivate connection and mutual support: a chance to get to know one another, foster professional relationships, explore relevant topics in the field, and build community in the spirit of cooperation.
ACCT is pleased to support this initiative by offering up to $10 per ACCT member. $10 per ACCT member will be reimbursed to the organizer up to a maximum of $100. To access this support, the designated organizer will need to:
- Prior to the event, submit a brief description of the event
- Include the names of attendees (all must be ACCT members)
- Provide a few photos we may share on the ACCT website or Facebook page
- Attach itemized receipts for eligible expenses (e.g., food or venue costs). The cost of alcohol or hallucinogenic substances will not be covered.
Whether it's a morning coffee meet-up, a park picnic, or an evening conversation circle, we encourage you to take the lead. Your willingness to gather others matters—it creates ripples of connection, courage, and belonging in our professional community.
we offer an inclusive model of co-operative communication
As a member-run cooperative, ACCT is committed to creating accessible and inclusive opportunities for professional development and community connection. Whenever possible, our association-related events—such as workshops, roundtables, and portions of our Annual General Meeting—are recorded and made available to members to view later via Zoom. We understand that not everyone can attend live, and we want to ensure that the learning and dialogue remain accessible. That said, we always encourage members to participate in real time whenever they can—in-person or live online—as this allows for richer discussion, networking, and a stronger sense of connection within our growing community. Your engagement helps keep the spirit of our cooperative alive!
